Zuni Bear Carving

Material: Natural Thulite (Manganese-bearing Zoisite) with Epidote Form: Hand-carved Zuni Bear figure Weight: Approx 170 grams each Finish: Hand-polished with softly rounded edges 13-1520 TCX Rose Quartz – Soft, dusty pink thulite forming the primary body color, interspersed with organic olive-green epidote matrices aligned with 18-0317 TCX Forest Night, and occasional charcoal mineral specks referencing 19-4006 TCX Dark Shadow. This Zuni-style bear carving is shaped from natural pink thulite, its surface animated by irregular epidote inclusions that move through the stone like moss across weathered rock. The pink is muted rather than bright—earthy, mineral, and calm—while the green matrix introduces depth and contrast, ensuring no two carvings read the same. The bear form is compact and deliberate, with softened contours and a grounded stance. Rather than sharp detail, the carving emphasizes mass and presence, allowing the stone’s natural patterning to remain the focal point. Epidote veins appear and disappear across the body, creating an almost topographic rhythm unique to each piece.
